1. Hi Jonathan, how are you feeling today?

I’m back in the groove now after the summer and can see some intense months ahead. Spotify is an inspiring workplace, with a bunch of great people, so I usually go the office with a spring in my step
2. What kind of music got you motor running this morning?
I probably shouldn’t admit to this, but I normally kick off the day with the likes of I Mumindalen while I fix my son breakfast!
The short journey to and from work is definitely my personal music oasis in the day and recently I’ve been checking out The Cinematic Orchestra Late Night Tales and redisovering an old favorite Imogen Heap – Hide And Seek.
Once I’m at the office there’s usually a collaborative playlist blasting out, especially as the weekend gets close Kvart-i-fem-ragg. Curated playlists like wearehunted are also a great way to stay cutting edge!
3. Do you use Premium yourself?
I certainly do, and I pay for it myself too!
I travel a lot, and when I’m On The Road Again being able to access my music and best fplaylists through my phone is something I can’t imagine doing without.
Most days at work I also log in to the free service to see what ad campaigns we’re running, www.bilmusikbikten.se is a good example of an inventive campaign we ran recently.
At home, my premium account means my family and dinner guests are shared the ordeal of listening to me asking them to upgrade (sorry Finland!)
4. Tell me, why should I get the Premium version?
LIke I said, for me it’s all about portability. If Crowded House say take the Weather With You, Spotify Premium lets you take your music anywhere you go.
Premium is a great service that’s not only about finding and streaming music over the mobile phone, but also a really easy way to sync all your favorite tracks and your best playlists so you can take them offline. This means you are not relying on an internet connection, which is obviously perfect for traveling or relaxing on the beach. In Finland you are also able to access Spotify through your TV if you are a Sonera digital TV customer.
5. What are the countries or continents Spotify has on it’s target?
Millions Of People Running Around are using Spotify already, 7 million users in 7 markets so far. We will launch in the US before the end of the year. The US is the world’s largest music market and therefore very important for us.
6. Any cool updates or partnerships coming in the near future?
Our unofficial company motto is Harder Better Faster Stronger and I can promise you that we never stop trying to think og ways to improve and grow Spotify. There will be more to come – so watch this space!
Our partnerships with Sonera is an example of how Spotify will enter the living room. And as usual we are always adding more tracks – we have 8 million tracks right now, adding about 10,000 new per day. It would actually take you about 34 years to listen through the whole catalogue.
